Firebase Analytics: Data safety form answers

If your Android app includes Google Analytics for Firebase from Google, its data counts as data your app collects. According to the vendor, it collects device or other IDs, approximate location, app interactions (collected, not shared: the vendor acts as a service provider).

Matched dependencies: com.google.firebase:firebase-analytics.

Data type Collected Shared Ephemeral Purposes
Device or other IDs Yes No No Analytics
Approximate location
Derived from the device’s masked IP address
Yes No No Analytics
App interactions
App lifecycle events: screen views and sessions
Yes No No Analytics

Whether each type is required or optional for users depends on your app: optional only if users can turn it off and the app honors that.

Data type When Collected Shared Purposes
Purchase history Only if the app sells in-app products or subscriptions (purchase events are logged automatically) Yes No Analytics
User IDs Only if you call setUserId, or enable Google Signals (signed-in account identifiers) Yes No Analytics

The skill lists these under Needs your review and checks the code for the condition (for example a setUserId call) before you include them.

Collects an app-instance ID and the Android Advertising ID automatically (ad ID collection can be disabled in Analytics configuration; app-instance ID via the Consent Mode API). Google Signals, linking Google Ads, and Data Sharing Settings can change what is collected and whether it counts as shared; if you link Google Ads or export audiences, also declare PSL_ADVERTISING and review “shared”.

These are the rows of Google’s Data safety CSV that Firebase Analytics turns to true (or false for the ephemeral question). Columns: question ID, response ID, value. You also answer the required/optional row for each type.

data-safety-from-code finds Firebase Analytics in your build.gradle or version catalog, adds these answers with a link to the source, and merges them with every other SDK and with what your own code sends. You get a CSV to import and a report showing where each answer comes from.
